PTU Updates for February
PTU is accepting nominations for two officer positions for the 2012-2013 school year: President and Secretary. If you would like to run, or nominate someone, email stanthonyptu@yahoo.com (include the name and position). Being a PTU officer is a great way to share your time and talents with the St. Anthony’s community.
PTU would like to encourage families to donate toward the Michael J. Thomas Scholarship Fund for this school year. A number of 8th grade students attending a Catholic High School in the fall of 2012 will receive a scholarship to support them as they continue on with their Catholic education. Donations can be sent into the school in an envelope marked “Thomas Scholarship”. Checks or money orders are payable to St. Anthony PTU. Thank you for considering this worthy scholarship fund.
Planning is underway for the Washington D.C. trip next fall. If your child is currently in the 6th or 7th grade, PTU would like your input and ideas for fundraisers to help your family defray the cost of the trip. Email PTU at stanthonyptu@yahoo.com and let us know which type of fundraisers you would be interested in (e.g. selling items, special events…).
The “All Family” Fundraiser, Candy Bar sale is long past, yet some families have yet to turn in money for either selling candy bars, or choosing the buyout. Please send in outstanding payments at this time. PTU is glad to support every student in numerous ways during the school year, but we still need every family to participate in this fundraiser to make this happen.
Pierogi production is going strong. Thank you to all who have helped with this great fundraiser. There are great raffle prizes and incentives for all who participate.
If you are interested in volunteering for Staff Appreciation Week (May) and/or working the PTU table at the Pierogi Festival in June, please email stanthonyptu@yahoo.com or call Andrea at 440-840-9014.
The next PTU meeting is Wednesday, March 7th at 6:30pm in the school art room. Free babysitting is available. Please join us.

2010-2011 Update
During the 2010-2011 school year, PTU members and volunteers worked together to raise over $80,000. Yes, it meant many hours of dedication from many people, but it was a wonderful show of what our St. A’s community is capable of. Our annual Pierogi Fundraiser earned $49,000. It was a long production season, but every ‘pinch’ was worth it. PTU was able to support every student, teacher, the school and church needs through our efforts. Students in grades 5-8, who went on big trips to Mohican School of the Out-of-Doors and Washington DC, had the opportunity to significantly reduce their expenses and in some cases go for free by participating in PTU sponsored fundraisers. Those who volunteered made new friendships, became a part of our caring community and made a difference in the lives of many. On behalf of those who benefited from PTU, its members and volunteers, I thank you for your time, dedication and support.
Looking ahead to the 2011-2012 school year, we hope that you will join us. Whether you have a little or a lot of time to give, have great ideas or would just like to show your support, you are valuable to our mission. Complete the online member form on this site and submit. It’s that easy to get started.
